A place to see the scale model work of Patrick Matthews– me. Specializing in radio controlled scale model ships, I enjoy my work enough to write about it! So you can find some of that content here as well.
I’m a (thankfully still) employed automotive engineer. I told my high school counseler that I wanted to be an engineer, but the recommended curriculum never resulted in me driving a train. Instead I spend my days in a cubicle, so when I come home, model boats serve as a creative outlet.
This fascination has led to some interesting opportunities. I contributed heavily to Ships in Scale magazine for a few years… I wrote a book about constructing models of mahogany runabouts… and now I spend most of my time creating custom-constructed R/C scale models.
